Critical Thinking at Work: Yes it's a Superpower

One business problem (for people) is what will be left for us employees to really do when AI automates so many functions. The other business problem is that a lot of decisions are poorly thought out and fail.  An answer to both problems is people who are practiced and confident at thinking critically and making good judgements. While we can’t turn people into critical thinking superheroes in forty minutes, we can offer an overarching framework for good thinking and good decisions,  as well as tips and tricks that people can use starting tomorrow and for the rest of their careers

  • Six point checklist for making a good decision
  • Five key tools to use when wrestling with an argument
  • Four intellectual values to install to use in every decision
  • Three cognitive biases to overcome
  • Two calamitous thinking fallacies to avoid
  • One attitude to stay in front of AI the whole time

3 Key Learnings

  1. A framework for good decision making
  2. Surfacing some deeply installed cognitive biases that they can get on top of
  3. Thinking tools to sharpen their thinking about issues that come up at work
