Karen is an experienced executive leader who is passionate about creating work environments that enable people to be their authentic selves and deliver excellent outcomes for the organisation and customers they serve. By leveraging the diverse talents of its people, investing in their growth, and being consistent in communicating organisational purpose and performance, Karen believes great levels of engagement and delivery can be achieved and celebrated by everyone. Karen has led people and culture teams in a variety of organisational constructs including multi-nationals, private equity, publicly listed, cooperative bodies and now a council-controlled organisation as Director People and Performance, Auckland Transport. Her previous roles have spanned manufacturing, construction, financial services and aquacultural environments which have nurtured a deep commitment to physical and psychological safety at work. Outside of work Karen enjoys cycling and swimming.
