The Art of Ghosting. A Masterclass of ‘Mucking’ People Around!
Ghosting is not a new word, nor is the meaning behind it. Yet, it is rife in today’s job seeker market. Why is this? We know that the hiring process is an emotive activity however where has the aroha gone? Big questions for me are “What is the damage to my personal and organisational brand? Will these ‘ghostees’ be a return customer? Is the Talent function structured correctly to ensure ghosting doesn’t happen? What can I do to stop being a ghoster? We’ll explore what this means in plain language through the lens of a recruiter.
About Tim
At his core, Tim is a people person through and through. Trained in sport and exercise science it wasn’t long until the world of HR came calling! Quite the shift he does admit. Now finding himself working at the heart of NZ’s democracy, Tim leads a team of recruiters searching for the best talent. Apart from being the ‘worlds’ best ninja dad (after taking only a hand full of karate classes with his sons!), he prides himself on creating an environment of integrity, honesty, accountability and most importantly, aroha (love) and whakaute (respect). He has a true passion and champion for customer service and the candidate experience.
